San Francisco start-up and manufacturer of design-centric private aircraft – Cobalt – has designed a plane without dials, gauges and switches, but equipped with a forewing that makes it nearly impossible to stall mid-air and a high-tech tablet control system.Pre-orders can now be placed for the Co50 Valkyrie and Valkyrie-X. The Cobalt Valkyrie-X is an experiential version, which is only available in the US, while the Co50 Valkyrie is the fully certified model and offered worldwide.Cobalt CEO David Loury said he wanted build a plane that was easier and safer to fly: “Ten years ago, I had a vision to disrupt the aviation industry with an innovative private aircraft, that is not only technologically sound and safe, but also design-centric and luxurious. It’s a world class aircraft, complete with advanced safety, technology, and modern design features for travel-loving consumers and aviation enthusiasts.”The aircraft’s are both five-seat, propeller-driven private planes designed with three iPad-style screens that display the most essential information.
