Lindblad Expeditions marked another major milestone as the hull of National Geographic Resolution, the line’s second polar new-build, arrived at Ulstein Shipyard in Ulsteinvik Norway last weekend, following the construction of the main hull steelwork at CRIST S.A. in Gydnia, Poland.National Geographic Resolution arrived under tow with 100% of structure steel and major foundation work having competed at Crist S.A.The ship currently has all bow thruster, major HVAC equipment, main engines and stabilisers installed. With the arrival of the vessel in Ulstein, all the electrical and hotel outfitting will be completed.Sister ship to the soon-to-launch 126-guest National Geographic Endurance – the first polar build in the line’s history – the Polar Class 5 National Geographic Resolution will feature Ulstein’s signature X-BOW, that provides fuel efficiency while significantly improving guest comfort in rough seas; and a very high ice class for access deep into Polar Regions.National Geographic Resolution is scheduled for delivery in 2021.Lead image: National Geographic Endurance & National Geographic Resolution (photo credit: Oclin)
