American Airlines has opened its new Flagship and Admirals Club lounges at Philadelphia International Airport’s (PHL) Terminal A-West.The 25,000-square-foot facility, which opened on 22 May, promises a refined pre-flight experience for eligible travellers, replacing the previous Admirals Club in Terminal A-East.“We are excited to welcome our customers into American’s newest pre-flight experience with the opening of our brand-new Flagship and Admirals Club lounges in the A-West terminal,” said Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer. “Our passionate team worked zealously to create a calm, comfortable sanctuary away from the terminal hustle where customers can relax, recharge and feel taken care of before their journey takes off.”

PHL, serving as American’s primary trans-Atlantic gateway, saw over 355 peak-day departures to more than 120 destinations in 26 countries in 2024. The launch of new routes to Milan and Edinburgh on May 23 underscores the hub’s growing international reach.The new lounges are designed with comfort and versatility in mind. Natural materials, ambient lighting, spa-style showers, and family-friendly areas offer travellers a calm, hospitality-inspired environment. Guests can unwind in lounge neighbourhoods, enjoy a drink in full-service bars, or find privacy in dedicated work pods.The Flagship lounge features a glass of champagne upon entry, chef-curated a la carte dining, and panoramic runway views, while the Admirals Club lounge offers specialty Don Francisco coffee and a kids’ room. Both lounges feature the new Klur “Balance in Bloom” bath products and a seamless check-in through shared reception and sleek eGates.
