Earlier this week, Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio was admitted into Relais & Châteaux, becoming the first property in the portfolio to be located on Lake Como.

Raffles Hotels & Resorts has unveiled plans to bring the storied brand to the highly coveted Lake Como region, marking Raffles’ first property in Italy.

Marriott International’s ultra-luxury EDITION Hotels brand will launch on Lake Como in 2025. The hotel juggernaut signed a deal with Virgin Australia’s owner, Bain Capital Credit, and Omnam Group

Car lovers, prick up your ears. Last Saturday, 21st May, an Aston Martin Bulldog V8 Engine, 5300cc, 1979, was deemed Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este in the annual Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. It’s a one-off vehicle, built for an enthusiast who wanted to achieve 200 m.p.h. Currently being tweaked for owner Philip Sarofin, 35, a venture capital founder, it could once again speed up ‘next year’, though presumably Sarifin’s local Beverly Hills police won’t be happy.

Dating back to 1910 and Art Nouveau in style and decoration, the family-owned Grand Hotel Tremezzo commands one of the most enchanting positions on Lake Como with spectacular panoramic views of both the town of Bellagio, the Riviera delle Azalee and the stunning Grigne Mountains. The historic hotel has 90 rooms and suites, all of which offer guests breathtaking views of the lake or the hotel’s century-old 20,000-square-metre park and gardens.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has taken over management of CastaDiva Resort & Spa, an existing resort on Lake Como, Italy. The property will be rebranded as Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como in spring 2019 following a refurbishment of facilities. It will become Mandarin Oriental’s first resort in Western Europe and will complement the Group’s Milan hotel.
